Recalls 105,000 cars – the brake pedal can fall off

In fact, there are as many as two recalls that Mercedes has to go through. Overall, it is more than 105,000 cars that have to be repaired.

Mercedes has problems with several SUVs. And now it has become so serious that recalls have been issued on both GLE and GLS models in the US.

Firstly, there are problems with the software in a wide range of gearboxes on both GLE and GLS models built between 2020 and 2024.

Mercedes says that the brand became aware of the problem as early as March 2022. But that nothing has been done for now because the cause of the problem proved difficult to trace.

However, the brand believes it has found it now. Namely, a problematic software in the management of the brand's nine-speed gearbox. However, it is only in models with six-cylinder engines and nine-speed gearboxes.

Carscoops writes that.

Still, Mercedes is taking no chances and is recalling a total of 105,071 cars that may have the problematic software in the gearbox.

Having said that, there are also problems with the pedals. Yes, the pedals. They run the risk of falling off the GLE.

Certainly not in such large numbers. In fact, Mercedes believes it is 'only' the 466. However, in these cars, the welding may be too weak, meaning that both the brake pedal and the accelerator are at risk of falling off.

However, Mercedes says at the same time that it has not heard of any GLE owners with that particular problem. But the cars must go to the workshop. The recalls will begin on April 16.
