Tesla haters spend fortunes to save abandoned cars

He has spent fortunes getting Super Bowl commercials to warn against Tesla's technology. But now billionaire Dan O'Dowd has bought a bunch of Teslas that were stranded in China.

The story might be a match made in heaven. In any case, it is paradoxical that one of the world's biggest Tesla critics is now paying for the rescue of a pile of Tesla Roadster models.

But he does. Billionaire Dan O'Dowd has several times spent fortunes on advertising time during Super Bowl finals in the USA. Time he has spent warning against Tesla's self-coring technology, which he calls 'dangerous and half-baked'.

Nevertheless, Dan O'Dowd, who, among other things, makes money by competing with Tesla on technology, has bought a bunch of the first Tesla Roadsters.

Carscoops writes that.

The story of the cars went viral last year when it emerged that the cars were stranded in a Chinese port. Left in the containers because the authorities refused them entry to the country.

The cars were then bought by the Gruber Motor Company and brought home to the USA. But subsequently, the story of the cars has been somewhat forgotten.

That is, until it came out on YouTube that they are at a Tesla specialist in Seattle. Here it is estimated that an additional 300,000 dollars must be found for new batteries for the cars.

So on top of the 800,000 dollars, corresponding to 5.5 million Danish kroner, that Dan O'Dowd has already paid for the cars.
