Huge company abandons building electric cars altogether

After a decade of development work, the world's second largest company, Apple, is now dropping its plans for an electric car. The financial media writes that.

Apple won't build an electric car anyway.

The development of the car, known internally as 'Project Titan', has otherwise been going on for more than a decade. But now Apple will no longer be involved.

This is written by the financial media Bloomberg .

On Tuesday this week, 2,000 employees working on the project were informed that the electric car has been scrapped. This is what unnamed sources tell the media.

Some of the many employees are reportedly being moved to new projects with artificial intelligence. But Apple does not avoid layoffs.

– Apple made a decision and announced it internally on Tuesday, much to the surprise of the nearly 2,000 employees, writes Bloomberg.

Project Titan arose in 2014 on the basis of an idea for a self-driving service in the style of Google's Waymo. But later Apple changed tracks and maps in the same direction as, among others, Tesla.

There were even rumors that Apple was looking for a collaboration partner among the already established car brands. Read more about it here .
