Costs DKK 2,000 – now the police criticize people in cars

Far too many drivers are still looking at everything but the road. The mobile phone in particular is an attention grabber behind the wheel. Even if the handheld is illegal.

You are welcome to talk on the phone, even behind the wheel. Then it just has to happen hands-free. But apparently there are many motorists who find it difficult to understand.

This even though since 2019 it has cost both a cut in the card and 2000 kroner in total to be caught behind the wheel with the phone in hand.

The South East Jutland Police found this during a check in Kolding on Tuesday this week. This is stated by the police circle in a press release .

– Mobile phones attract and create problems in traffic. We can see this in the number of mobile cases, but also in the traffic monster among the citizens.

Far too many are looking for anything other than driving a car. Stop it. Chor car when you chorus car, says Keld Schou-Jensen at Patruljecenter Syd, South East Jutland Police.

In total, police caught 13 motorists messing with phones rather than keeping eyes on the roads this Tuesday.

But the drivers were also noted for other stupidities. One was driving without a seat belt, two had forgotten their driver's license, one was driving under the influence, while a moped was driving around with an illegal blue light.

Mobile surveillance is far from the only thing the police have had to deal with on the roads recently. In a completely different police district, a 28-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday.

The police believe that he has used an old trick to trick several motorists. A car dealer is also involved in the case. Read more about it here .
