Motorists want to be friends with their cars, Mercedes believes

There are indications that Mercedes owners are lonely types. In any case, the software manager says that drivers 'just want someone to talk to'.

Are Mercedes owners missing friends?

Well, maybe if you ask the brand's head of software Magnus Östberg. In a recent interview, he says that 'Mercedes owners just want someone to talk to'.

That's what Top Gear writes.

– Our ultimate goal with our virtual assistants is to provide a service. That service can look very different, depending on the region in question.

– It is actually something that our customers in Asia would like to have. They don't have a purpose for it. They just want someone to talk to.

But this is certainly not the case everywhere where Mercedes sells cars. On the domestic market in Germany, the brand's customers certainly do not feel that way, emphasizes Magnus Östberg.

For the same reason, many points to the fact that Mercedes is on the way with a sea of new assistant systems. But it can be wasted effort.
