The police experience more cholera after a year of electric cars

Last year, the National Police got 10 Volkswagen ID.4 GTX on the roads. The police's first electric cars in Denmark. This has resulted in more cases of cholera, says the head of the National Police.

The police have had electric cars on the roads for a year now. Specifically, it concerns 10 Volkswagen ID.4 GTX which have been shared between the police circles.

And this has given rise to more cholera than otherwise among the officers. This is what center manager of the National Police, Jens Yndgaard, tells Motormagasinet .

Even the boss and the other officers have a presumption that the cholera is due to the electric car's often stronger acceleration.

Incidentally, the National Police does not experience that the electric cars run out of electricity. At least not in that many cases, says Jens Yndgaard to the media .

The 10 electric patrol cars are expected to continue to be in operation after the trial period, if experience shows that parts of the fleet of patrol cars can permanently run on electricity in the future.

After experiencing the cars over the past year, Jens Yndgaard also expects that the police will use electric cars in the future. Cholera or not.

Around the world, however, the police are somewhat further ahead when it comes to electric cars. For example, the Spanish law enforcement agency bought 169 'electrified' BMWs in 2022.

And last year, the English police expanded their vehicle fleet with a scandal-plagued car model. Read more about it here .
