The EU will break the electric car trick already this year

Charging the electric car can be extremely expensive. But now the EU wants to put a kind of ceiling on what it must actually cost.

Here at Boosted, we have previously written about electric car owners who are left in shock at public charging stations. That is, when they see the bill.

This is all due to roaming, which the charging operators charge if customers of another operator use the company's charging station.

The same principle is known from the telecommunications industry, where the EU has already put a ceiling on what roaming can cost.

For the charging operators behind the charging stations for electric cars, the new fee limitation will already apply this year. Specifically, April 14th.

This is written by the interest organization FDM .

After that date, the land operators must not discriminate between customers. But this does not mean that the electricity in the charging stations will be free entertainment.

Because although the prices for charging will soon be more transparent, the charging operators may, for example, like to collect blocking fees from people in electric cars who do not move their cars from the charging stations again.
