In France, a Toyota with 3 cylinders costs DKK 800,000

The fee is double what Toyota actually charges for the car. Even seen from Danish eyes, the price is crazy.

When Toyota brought the small GR Yaris to Denmark in 2021, it was at a price from DKK 499,990. There are hardly many customers for such a car.

And not at all in the small, impractical hatchback form. Having said that, it may actually be possible to buy the car even more expensively.

It just requires a set of French license plates. A look at the local importer's website reveals that the little Japanese is outrageously expensive.

Toyota already wants 46,300 euros corresponding to 345,000 kroner for the car. But then the registration fee must be added. And then it gets really grim.

Because the small, three-cylinder petrol engine emits 190 grams of CO2 per WLTP standard. short kilometre, the French practically double the price of the car. This is due to a CO2 tax.

Specifically, the French media Caradisiac has noted that the car has a price of 92,290 euros when the tax is paid. But it can actually be even more expensive.

Because in France, a GR Yaris with a manual transmission costs – and not an automatic transmission – and the car emits 210 grams of CO2 per kilometer. It punishes the French with a total price of 108,800 euros, equivalent to 805,000 kroner.
