Recalling 15,000 cars with potentially dangerous headlights

Each of the recalled cars has a set of headlights that are most likely not calibrated correctly. This can pose a danger to other drivers.

Mercedes in the US must look at 15,000 copies of the same model. Actually a little more. 15,502 cars require a trip to the workshop.

They are all GLC models built between 2019 and 2022. However, it took the brand several years and an internal investigation to arrive at that.

Carscoops writes that.

Specifically, there are probably problems with the headlights in the more than 15,000 cars. They can, says Mercedes now, risk being calibrated/adjusted incorrectly.

If so, the headlights can be dazzling for other drivers to see. Mercedes says that while the headlight alignment meets the statutory standards, the alignment of the many headlights falls short of the brand's own standards.

So far, Mercedes has received one complaint about the problem. And it dates all the way back from October 2021.

Nevertheless, the American importer is taking no chances. On the other hand, Mercedes does not expect to find the problem in all of the recalled cars.
