Flemming was given a grotesque "stupid booth" by the state

1 crown. Sometimes far less. This is what scores of Danes have to pay these days because they have not been paid periodic tax on time.

Danish motorists are inundated with microscopic bills. This is because they have not paid the periodic tax on their cars on time.

The amounts are on the very low end. TV Midtvest has spoken to Lars Ivan Rasmussen, who has received a charge of DKK 1.04.

He finds it ridiculous in many ways. At the very least, it's a waste of resources.

– It must cost more to collect than you get in. Anything under 50 kroner should just be ignored, he says to the media .

On social media, Boosted has seen several examples of these letters. And the amount can be much lower than one kroner – much lower.

Among other things, Flemming M. writes on his LinkedIn profile that he has received a bill of DKK 0.07 in interest. Plus a guide on how he can pay the amount owed.

In several cases, the interest charges are probably due to errors in Betalingsservice, even if it is automated. However, the criticism bounces off the Tax Agency.

Sune Thvilum-Kannegaard, deputy director of the Tax Agency, maintains to TV Midtvest that rules are rules. And that all amounts, even very small ones, must be collected from citizens and businesses that owe tax.
