Car show breaks record after Tesla boycott

The organizer of the Vancouver Auto Show in Canada initially asked Tesla to voluntarily withdraw from the car show, and then people poured in.

The Vancouver Auto Show has never seen so many visitors as it did this year. Visitors poured in after a Tesla boycott.

This is reported by CTV News .

Initially, the organizer had asked Tesla in Canada to voluntarily withdraw because the American brand's CEO, Elon Musk, is very closely connected to the White House.

And here sits Donald Trump, who has imposed tariffs on all cars imported from Canada. The president did the same for cars from all other countries shortly after.

– Not only did we break another attendance record, but we also witnessed an incredible interest in the shift towards sustainability and electrification in the automotive sector.

This year's exhibition truly reflected the future of transportation, and we couldn't be more excited to have shared that vision with the community, the organizer tells CTV News.

The customs wall, in turn, put Canada's people and politicians on the barricades against the United States. Tesla has, among other things, been excluded from a bonus of a whopping 207 million kroner. Read more about it here.

The Canadians have also made it more expensive for new Tesla owners to charge their cars. But in Vancouver, visitors poured in after Tesla was asked to withdraw from the exhibition.

The Canadian government is not done picking on Tesla, however. The brand has – along with a number of Chinese car brands – also been excluded from a law that provides up to 20,000 Danish kroner in tax credits on a new electric car.
