Here, an abandoned Ford Escort Cosworth RS rots away

There are actually not just one, but two Ford Escort Cosworth RSs rotting away in this barn. The cars look like they haven't been on the road for very long.

Somewhere in Europe, not one, but two classic Ford Escort RS Cosworths are slowly rotting away. The people behind the YouTube channel The Bearded Explorer have shared the gruesome find.

And you don't have to be a Ford fan, because it's a bit heartbreaking that the legendary performance cars from the 90s are in such a state.

According to The Bearded Explorer, the place is not easy to get to, as it is both monitored and visited regularly. However, it is not known by whom.

But clearly no one is particularly interested in the cars on the property. Judging by the license plate, which can be seen slightly on the blue car, these are two right-hand drive cars from England.

But there's more to come. If you look closely, the skeleton of a BMW E30 3-Series also appears. So does the wreckage of a Porsche 928 and a Mini Cooper S.

Not just one but several Ford Escort Cosworth RSs stand abandoned

According to the license plates, which the people behind the YouTube channel have chosen to hide, the cars have not been on the roads for at least 20 years. But why, unfortunately, is not revealed.

A search of the English motor registry reportedly shows that neither of the two Ford models has more than 20,000 kilometers on them. Conversely, the rust appears to be minimal.

At least on the surface. But after 20 years of questionable storage, we dare not guess what it looks like underneath the cars. Nevertheless, the cars may be worth saving.

A quick look at Mobile.de shows that they cost from 65,000 euros today. That's the equivalent of just under half a million kroner in Denmark. So there's literally a fortune to be had there.

Unfortunately, this is far from the first time that iconic cars have met a very sad fate. In fact, it happens so often that we here at Boosted have created an entire category of articles about it.

Several times there is something immediately mysterious behind many of the stories. Like when a sea of apparently brand new BMW E34 5 Series appeared in a seemingly abandoned building in the middle of Bulgaria. Read more about it here .
