The first filling station with liquid natural gas was opened in 2022 by Q8. Now another one is opening in Hirtshals.
Letting them run on liquefied natural gas should reduce the environmental impact of trucks. There just aren't that many places to fill it up in Denmark.
But now Q8, which set up the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) tank facility in 2022, is opening another one. This time in Hirtshals.
The company states this in a press release .
– For the heavy corvettes, the possibilities to refuel with less climate-damaging fuels have long been limited, despite great demand. We are therefore very happy that we can now open a new LNG plant in Hirtshals.

– Because this means that, with the facilities in Padborg and Hirtshals, we now make it possible for our freight transport customers to reduce their CO2e emissions on the trip north or south through Denmark and further into Europe, says Q8's Gert Thomsen.
According to the energy company, LNG trucks emit 20 percent less CO2 than their counterparts with diesel engines over the life cycle of the fuel.
The expectation is that within a shorter number of years it will also be possible to refuel liquid biogas in Hirtshals – also called the LBG plant. LNG cars will be able to drive it without any problems.
