Although 2023 was the year with the second highest number of used car sales in this country, success also quite literally had a price.
Almost a record number of used cars were sold in Denmark last year. A new calculation from Bilbasen shows that 431,000 real transactions were made on the platform.
Only slightly less than the record year 2021, when the Danish used car dealers sold 446,000 cars. But it quite literally comes at a price to keep the market going well.
The sales platform's review of the market also shows that the used car dealers lowered the prices of used electric cars by a staggering DKK 1.1 billion in the course of 2023.
The price reductions are primarily due to Tesla throwing a bomb under the car market in general, when the Americans drastically reduced the price of brand new cars at the beginning of 2023.

Since then it happened several times. And it actually still happens. And in a way where the other car brands can no longer ignore Tesla's move.
2024 is barely a month old. And Tesla has already lowered the price of Denmark's best-selling car again. Several car brands have since followed suit. Also on the leasing front.
