Renault is gaining momentum – both in Denmark and in the rest of Europe, where sales are growing enormously.
Renault has had a strong 2024 with growth in both global and European markets. While the brand's approach to electric cars and hybrid technology secures their position as front-runners, Denmark has stood out as one of the most successful markets.
A growth of 75% in passenger car sales emphasizes that Renault has a strong position among Danish car buyers.
Globally, Renault launched eight new models in 2024, including the electric Scenic E-Tech and Renault 5 E-Tech Electric.
The latter has already achieved the title of Car of the Year 2025 and became the best-selling electric car in the B-segment in France with 10,000 units sold in just two months.
Total global sales reached 1,577,351 units, an increase of 1.8% compared to 2023.
Europe remains Renault's largest market with over one million cars sold and a market share of 6.7%.
Sales of electric cars increased by 9%, while hybrid cars experienced an impressive growth of 30%, placing Renault in second place among hybrid manufacturers in Europe.
Explosive growth in Denmark
Renault also had a great year in Denmark, with sales of passenger cars increasing by 75% and vans by 18%. Total sales of passenger cars and vans increased by a whopping 51.76%.
Denmark is now Renault's seventh largest market in Europe, after the brand moved from 11th to 7th place in the ranking.
The bestsellers on the Danish market in 2024 were the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric, Renault Clio and the new Scenic E-Tech Electric.
On the van side, Renault Trafic performed extremely well and came close to matching sales of the most popular passenger cars.
According to Soren Hyltoft, Head of Communication & Marketing at RN Denmark, the focus in 2025 is on four electric cars and a strengthening of electric drive in the van segment. Models such as the Renault Master E-Tech Electric and the upcoming Renault R4 will drive growth.
Technology for the people
Renault's focus on advanced technology at affordable prices is clear: 81% of buyers in 2024 chose to add the openR link multimedia system with Google Built-In when available.
At the same time, more than 40% of customers preferred the innovative Solarbay panoramic roof, and the most well-equipped versions such as Iconic and Alpine accounted for 25% of Scenic sales.
Renault's ambitious initiatives and dedication to innovation show that the brand is not only ready to grow, but also to set the standard for the cars of the future.
2025 will be a year with a focus on electric cars and new technology, and everything indicates that Renault will continue to be a significant player in the green transition.
