Gets 1.2 million kroner – street racing will become legal in 2025

Legal street racing in Horsens is closer than ever. The municipality has allocated 1.2 million kroner for the establishment.

The area behind packaging company Amcor Flexibles in Horsens will now officially become an area with legal street racing.

The Horsens city council has already set aside the money for the budget agreement. However, there are several reasons why nothing has really happened yet. Read more about it here .

But in 2025, plans to use the paved area behind the factory for street racing are set to become a reality.

According to Horsens Folkeblad, the million-dollar grant has not been changed. But there are problems. Since the debut in 2023, there has been disagreement about who will run the upcoming races on the few hundred meters of free asphalt.

A spokesperson for Striben Randers told Randers Amtsavis back in February 2022 that it appears that the counterpart, Striben Horsens, has created several associations just to get more lob dates.

– Then we can run such a childish war, and next year we can set up 10 associations. But that's not what we want. We just want to run some street race in Randers with a lot of people from the city, it seemed.

But Striben Horsens, which is linked to the group of people behind Racedays.dk, denies that they are creating a bad atmosphere. Here they are simply doing the same as Striben Randers, which has also established another association.

– It's probably more those who have a horn in their side than the other way around. But we haven't broken any rules, we've just founded competing associations, said a spokesman in 2022.

Michael Nederso, who sits on the city council for the Danish People's Party, is nevertheless confident that the grant for the track is in place.

The city council has released 1.2 million kroner for the establishment of a street race track after construction halts put the project on hold.

– Now we can take the next step towards creating a safe and controlled place where the joy of motorcycling can flourish, he writes on Facebook .
