50,000 have ordered a Tesla that doesn't exist yet

Tesla is ready with a facelift for Denmark's most popular car. But that doesn't mean the Model Y is here yet. Even so, 50,000 people have pre-ordered the car.

Already on the launch day of the facelifted Tesla Model Y, 50,000 Chinese customers have ordered the car, writes Carnewschina , citing Chinese car blogger Zhang San Jiao Xing Jian Zhe.

Two other car bloggers report sales of 300 and 100 cars, respectively, in individual stores on launch day alone.

The new Model Y, which has new suspension and an updated interior, among other things, seems to be a departure from the older model.

Despite the older Model Y being sold at a discount and with the option of financing with zero percent interest, most buyers have chosen the new version.

"Orders exploded," a Tesla salesperson told Chinese media.

Chinese customers who have ordered the facelifted Model Y can expect to receive the car in May. The new model has not yet been launched in Denmark.

On Friday, the updated version of the Tesla Model Y hit the market in China. The electric car has been updated with a number of improvements and design changes.

Some believe that Tesla has been inspired by Xpeng, and that the car has now taken on a more Chinese feel. However, this has not stopped Chinese buyers from placing orders for the new model.

This is certainly not the first time there has been a demand for an electric car, since it has even been released. Last year, Boosted was able to tell how a company that has never built cars had 70,000 customers pre-order a car.

It has since been shown that the car, the Xiaomi SU7, is seriously lacking in many areas. And that in several cases it cannot be repaired at the dealership, but must be sent all the way back to the factory.Read more about it here .
