Ken Block's legendary Hoonitruck is going up for auction

Ken Block is no longer here. But the rally icon's former cars are. Including the legendary Ford F-150 Hoonitruck. Now it can be yours at auction.

The late rally legend Ken Block's Ford F-150 Hoonitruck will be auctioned at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale at the end of January.

The car, which was built specifically for Ken Block's Gymkhana videos, is a converted 1977 Ford F-150 with an impressive 3.5-liter twin-turbo Ford EcoBoost V6 engine.

The engine produces 914 horsepower and is equipped with a custom-built, 3D-printed intake manifold that is visible directly through the hood. And of course, the giant turbos.

The horsepower is transferred to all four wheels via an advanced four-wheel drive system that is perfect for the demanding stunts the car is known for.

Ken Block said in 2018 that the Hoonitruck was inspired by the 1977 Ford F-150 that he learned to drive in. However, the original car was nowhere near as powerful as the Hoonitruck.

The Hoonitruck has previously appeared in Ken Block's Gymkhana 10 video and in Climbkhana 2, where it briefly ascends the Tianmen Mountain Highway in China.

Barrett-Jackson has not announced what it expects the car to sell for. But when the car was listed at a dealer in 2021, it was priced at $10 million. It is estimated that the car cost $12 million to rebuild at the time.

The auction is being held without a reserve price under the hammer. This means that the actual price could end up being wildly high or with a huge price cut. However, it is expected that the price will be on the high end, as the Hoonitruck is a unique and iconic vehicle with a fascinating history.

Ken Block was a well-known rally driver and stuntman who sadly died in a snowmobile accident in January 2023. He was known for his spectacular skills behind the wheel and the popular Gymkhana videos that have millions of views on YouTube.

The Hoonitruck is one of Ken Block's most famous vehicles. The 'old' Ford was and is a perfect example of his passion for motorsport. The new owner of the Hoonitruck will not only get a unique vehicle, but also a piece of motorsport's most popular history.
