Anna received hate messages because Tesla burned down

Anna Persson has experienced a vehicle burning down. But she has never experienced being brought down by hatred, like when her Tesla burned down.

Anna Persson experienced a veritable sea of hatred when she publicly shared her experience with a Tesla that caught fire.

Her account of the incident, in which her Tesla Model X suddenly caught fire, sparked a violent reaction online.

– No matter how you phrase it, you will be exposed to criticism from people who don't like Tesla, she tells Carup .

Anna Persson and her husband live in a remote area of Norway. They own several and many different cars.

– My husband is a car enthusiast, and that's why we have several cars.

– I have chosen to drive an electric car and Tesla to work for financial reasons, Anna explains to the media.

The incident took place in Hälsingland, where Anna's husband discovered that the car was starting to burn.

"He parked the car and noticed a sound that sounded like bacon frying," Anna says.

– Suddenly something exploded between the seats. It couldn't have been the battery, as we recently got a new battery.

Anna's husband escaped the fire with minor injuries. However, Anna points out that the situation could have been much more serious if there had been children in the back seat, as the car's door handles are electric.

Anna subsequently chose to share her concerns about the electric door handles in a Facebook group. This post triggered a flood of negative comments and hate messages.

Anna's intention was really just to warn other Tesla owners about the potential danger of electric door handles in the event of a fire.

– I would like to point out that it can be a safety advantage to choose a car with mechanical handles, she says.

"If I had advised people against driving Teslas, I would undoubtedly have received even more hate."

This is not the first time Anna Person has experienced a car fire . She has previously been involved in an accident with a tractor that caught fire. However, she did not experience any negative response after sharing the story.

Today she is frustrated by the messages she has received.

"I'm incredibly tired of those who feel entitled to put others down," she says. "Accidents can happen no matter what type of vehicle you drive."
