Bankrupt KTM confirms – closing down

Bankrupt motorcycle brand KTM now confirms that it will withdraw from MotoGP from 2026. This is in an attempt to save the business.

Austrian KTM is on the verge of bankruptcy. The company owes billions of kroner.

And now it has emerged that not even interest from Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton can save the factory's MotoGP team.

This is reported by Motorsport.com .

KTM's team of administrators confirms that they will not be extending their agreement with MotoGP, which expires in 2026.

– In this regard, it is planned not to extend the contract with MotoGP, which runs until 2026. An early withdrawal from the racing series is not currently planned.

KTM's exit from MotoGP also means the factory team will leave the smaller Moto2 and Moto3 series. The motorcycle company itself is left with a glut of inventory. The employees who were not paid in December have built no less than 265,000 motorcycles that have not yet been sold.

In addition to MotoGP and the underlying series, KTM has also withdrawn from the off-series long-distance race called the Hard Enduro World Championship. Something that the team otherwise won as recently as 2023.
