Renault 5 Turbo 3E costs almost 1 million kroner

It doesn't have much to do with a turbo. But the new Renault 5 Turbo 3E will still be insanely expensive in Denmark if it comes here.

It has neither a turbo nor any special sound. That is, other than tire noise. Still, the reborn Renault 5 Turbo 3E will be a completely different expensive pleasure than the standard model.

At least that's what the Norwegian importer guesses.

But even though the price of the new retro Renault is still unknown, Roger Andresen, head of communications at the Norwegian importer, says that customers apparently don't care.

He tells Norwegian Motor that the interest is already massive. Even though customers are told that the importer expects the price of the new 5 Turbo 3E to be around 100,000 euros. This corresponds to 1 million Norwegian kroner or just over 750,000 Danish kroner.

– After we published the news, we have received several serious inquiries from Norwegian enthusiasts who want this car, almost no matter what, Roger Andresen tells the media .

Renault in Norway has therefore rushed to put a bid on several of the cars from the factory in France. And that could be a really good idea. Only 1,950 cars will be built, because the French are pulling the plug again forever.

Like its combustion engine predecessor, the Renault 5 Turbo 3E is rear-wheel drive. The two electric motors on the rear wheels deliver a combined output of more than 500 horsepower. This means a 0 to 100 km/h time of 3.5 seconds.

In comparison, the standard Renault 5 E-Tech model has 150 horsepower, 240 newton meters and front-wheel drive.

Here in Denmark, the importer has indeed mentioned the reborn top model in a press release. But there is not a single word about either ordering options or price. So the chance of seeing a Renault 5 Turbo 3E is probably vanishingly small. Unfortunately.
