Car brands lower prices significantly after New Year

Several Danish car importers are having to clear out their stocks. As a result, several – and even some popular – electric cars are set to drop significantly in price after the New Year.

If you can wait a few days to buy a new car, you should do so. The importers of several car brands have announced price cuts on a number of their models at the beginning of the new year. The reason for the price cuts is a desire to reduce large inventories.

Toyota is offering a temporary price reduction on the scandal-hit electric car bZ4X. In the period from January 2nd to 19th, the high-end variant of the model can be purchased with a saving of 30,000 kroner. The normal price of 360,000 kroner is thus reduced to 330,000 kroner during those days.

Hyundai has chosen a more permanent price adjustment for several of its models. Both the SUV model Kona and the electric cars Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 have become 35,000 kroner cheaper. The importer announced this in a press release .

The price cuts on electric cars come after a period of increasing numbers of models on the market, which, according to Berlingske, has pushed prices down.

Already in late summer, FDM and Statistics Denmark predicted a development with lower prices for electric cars.

Electric cars have become a common part of the Danish street scene. The interest group FDM estimates that eight percent of all passenger cars on Danish roads are now fully electric.

The reduced prices at car brands like Toyota and Hyundai could help increase sales further in the new year. But it could also be a party that lasts even longer for consumers. That is, drivers. Read more about it here .
