Pressed Trump: So Elon Musk is not president

Donald Trump would really like to buy Greenland. But at home in the US he has to shoot down rumors about Tesla CEO Elon Musk and the presidency.

Donald Trump has felt compelled to speak out about Tesla CEO Elon Musk's role in American politics.

According to Trump, there is no doubt that Musk will never become president of the United States, either officially or unofficially. He pointed this out during a speech in Phoenix, where he made it clear, with a humorous undertone, that Musk is not eligible for the office because he was not born in the United States.

Elon Musk has recently emerged as a central figure in political debates, both in the United States and internationally. In Germany, where Tesla also has a factory , he has made statements about political parties and government leaders.

This is what Politico writes.

On the social media platform X, Musk recently criticized German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and called for his resignation. “Scholz should resign immediately,” Musk wrote, describing him as incompetent.

The statements have sparked speculation about whether Musk is trying to position himself as a political leader. In the US, rumors are that he is acting as a kind of “unofficial president,” while Trump merely assumes the role of vice president.

Trump clearly rejected this rumor during his speech, where he pointed out that such theories are absurd.

This is not the first time Elon Musk has been the subject of controversy in the political world. His increasing visibility and outspoken comments on politics have sparked debate about his true goals and influence.

Especially in the United States, there is discussion about how a person with his background and professional position influences the public conversation.

Donald Trump also commented on Musk's way of engaging in politics.

"He's good at getting attention. But that doesn't mean he can or should be president," Trump said.

The future president also emphasized that leading a company like Tesla cannot be compared to running a country.

Part of the debate also revolves around Musk's possible role in future government initiatives. There is speculation that he could head a new government agency, the Department of Government Efficiency, that would work to reduce government spending. This position would give him a more formal role in American politics, although it does not involve the presidency.

Trump, however, made it clear that he does not see Musk as a competitor, but rather as someone who plays a completely different role in the political landscape. “He is an interesting figure, but not someone who should be put in the White House,” Trump stated.

Elon Musk has yet to comment directly on Trump's statements, but it is clear that his engagement with political issues, both in the US and internationally, will continue to generate attention and debate.

For Trump, the message is clear: Musk is welcome to be active in the debate, but he will never be president.
