Teenage thief discovered – stole 300,000 kroner worth of gasoline

A teenager had found what every driver probably dreams of. Namely, a way to fill up for free. He filled up at least 300,000 kroner without paying.

Police in San Diego, USA, have arrested and charged a 19-year-old teenager with stealing gasoline worth no less than 300,000 kroner.

According to law enforcement, the theft took place over several months, without the very young driver being discovered. At least not for now.

The police are not yet fully aware of how the teenager behaved. But it is clear that he has succeeded in manipulating the payment systems at several gas stations.

It was the employees at one of the gas stations that the young man stole from who ended up reporting him to the police. The employees could not directly see that the 19-year-old was filling up without paying.

But they still thought it was strange that he filled up there at least twice a week. Sometimes more often. And often for more than $2,000 at a time.

By that time, the gas company's IT department had already discovered that the amount of gasoline did not match what was paid for.

San Diego police raided the 19-year-old on December 2nd of this year. He was caught red-handed when he was not only filling up his GMC Yukon, but also intending to fill up several cans that were ready in the car.

The young man is now in custody. However, the police have not commented on what punishment he faces if he is also charged in the case.
