Polestar has built their own Tesla Cybertruck

Polestar now releases the brand's own take on a Tesla Cybertruck. To begin with, however, it is only a model car from a design competition.

Polestar has created a potential competitor to the Tesla Cybertruck in the form of a model car that has won a design competition. The car, called Polestar TRX, is an all-terrain vehicle with eye-popping proportions.

The Polestar TRX was designed by Shashank Shekhar from India, who won the Polestar Design Contest 2024. The competition was held in collaboration with Hot Wheels . And Shekhar's design was chosen as the winner from a number of entries from young designers worldwide.

– I am very happy to win. This will be the first design in my career to be produced, so it's a big event for me.

– I never thought that something I created would one day be like a Hot Wheels car. It's been a great trip and I've had a lot of fun. Something like this gives you a lot of confidence as a young designer, says Shashank Shekhar in a press release .

The model car is expected to be launched in the summer of 2025 in the 1:64 scale. There are no plans to produce the full size TRX.

The design competition is now in its fourth year. The competition aims to promote new design talent and has helped to introduce a number of promising designers to Polestar's design team and the industry as a whole.
