Lamborghini owner gets DKK 17,000. to have a choir card

A Lamborghini owner has been fined 17,000 kroner, even though he has a choir card. The right of way is actually the wrong one according to a new, strict Australian law.

A Lamborghini owner in Australia was recently ticketed for driving without the mandatory "U" driving license for supercar owners.

The law, which came into effect on December 1, requires drivers of "ultra high-powered vehicles" (UHPV) to have this special license if their car has a power-to-weight ratio of at least 370 horsepower per second. ton.

This is what Australian police write in a post about the case on social media.

The Lamborghini driver, who was stopped by the police due to a missing number plate, shorted a Huracan STO with a 630 horsepower V10 engine.

With a weight of 1,339 kilograms, the car has a power/weight ratio of around 470 hp per 1,000 kg, which is well over the permitted limit. That is, with a regular choir card.

The driver, a 36-year-old man, was stopped by police in Hillcrest, South Australia, and issued a ticket for not having the required UHPV driver's license.

The "U" choir card can be acquired by completing an online course that takes less than an hour and costs DKK 420. In addition, motorists must pay an additional DKK 140. to be issued a new choir card reflecting the new "U" grade.

Corsel without a "U" corse card can be punished with a fine of up to DKK 17,000. for a first offense. Repeated offenses can lead to fines of up to DKK 34,000. or even prison terms.

In addition to not having a driver's license, drivers in South Australia can also be fined up to DKK 34,000 if they drive in a UPHV car with disabled safety systems such as ABS, antispin, automatic nose brake or electronic stability control. However, the fine is waived if the driver can prove that the systems were not deliberately deactivated. Or that they didn't realize they were turned off.

Authorities in Australia claim that the "U" driver's license teaches drivers to operate a high-performance car safely and understand the risks involved. The special driver's license training you have to go through to get the driver's license includes, among other things, information about the car's safety features.
