Two passengers dead – melted in burning electric car

The bodies of two younger people remain unidentified more than a week after they collided with their electric car that hit a roadside tree.

For reasons still unknown, the driver of an electric Skoda lost control of the car, which droned directly into a roadside tree.

The accident that happened last week was so violent that the two people in the car melted into the wreckage, which burst into flames.

This is written by Bild .

When firefighters arrived at the scene of the accident, the car was already fully engulfed in flames. Two people were trapped inside. The firemen could only watch as the people burned up.

According to the German newspaper, it took almost five hours to extinguish the burning electric car. At that time, the firefighters had to use 13,000 liters of water to extinguish the Skoda.

– The fire continued to flare up and simply could not be extinguished, said task leader Philipp Brendel.

It was only when the fire department from a neighboring town came to the colleagues' rescue with special equipment made of stainless steel that the flames subsided.

Fortunately, flames and fires in electric cars are rare. But when they first arise, they are both violent and difficult to stifle again. Earlier this year, an American fire department had to use almost 190,000 liters of water to extinguish a Tesla Semi.

And here at home, a family from Hirtshals had to watch while their otherwise brand new Audi Q4 e-tron burned their house to the ground. Subsequently, the car had to be drowned in a specially designed container to get the flames under control. Read more about that case here .
