In Germany, where Tesla otherwise has its only European factory, the brand is struggling with sales. Now Model Y will be DKK 45,000 cheaper to entice buyers.
Tesla can look back on a 2024 when sales in Germany have plummeted. In order to save just a little of the sales figures, the price of the Model Y is reduced by 6,000 euros, corresponding to 45,000 Danish kroner.

The move comes as a reaction to a significant drop in sales. In the first months of the year alone, Tesla's sales in Germany shrank by 42 percent.
At the same time, the brand can note that European sales have stagnated in recent months.
In addition to the price reduction, Tesla also offers free charging at its Supercharger stations to customers in Germany who buy a Model Y. The latter is also the case in Denmark.

At home, however, no similar discounts have been announced. Not even on stock models. But Danish customers who throw money at a Tesla Model Y before December 31 will get a year's free supercharger charging included in the purchase.
The general decline in Tesla's European deliveries is evident. This year, the car brand has delivered 85,000 fewer cars in Europe compared to the same period last year.
This requires a significant turnaround in development if Tesla is to achieve the goal of delivering at least 515,000 cars in the last quarter of the year.
In fairness, it must be mentioned that Tesla is far from the only one struggling with declining sales figures. Several of the Danish car importers have lowered prices one time after another throughout 2024.
Most recently, Kia in Denmark has announced that the brand's largest car has become almost a quarter of a million kroner cheaper. Perhaps because between 1 January and 31 October this year, only 124 copies of the car were sold. Read more about it here .
