Two cans of tomato sauce caused a man to burn a car

Earlier this month, a 40-year-old man set fire to his neighbour's car after he himself had broken into the car to steal two cans of tomato sauce.

A 40-year-old man stole two tins of tomato sauce from his neighbour's car and then set the car on fire. The incident, which took place in Valentigney, France, on Thursday, November 14, was captured on surveillance video from another neighbor's home.

The 40-year-old man initially broke into the car by breaking a window. The man stole the two cans of tomato sauce into the car. He then returned to the car to set it on fire. The police later found the stolen cans in the man's fridge during a search of his home.

The 40-year-old man is already extremely well known to the police. In fact, it has emerged that he already has as many as 9 spots on his criminal record. He is now in custody and charged with theft and arson. The motive for the fire is still unknown.

The case raises questions about the man's mental state and his unpredictable behavior. The victim suffered a significant loss as the car was destroyed by the fire.

For the same reason, the 40-year-old man risks a severe sentence due to his extensive criminal past. But why the car had to be burned after the theft is therefore unclear.

It is far from the first time that crazy behavior goes directly beyond some cars. Boosted has also told about police cars losing side mirrors due to drunk people. Other times it is the drivers who are turned on.

It happened i.a. earlier this year, when a motorist assaulted a 10-year-old boy he was passing in Borup on Zealand. Read more about it here .
