Millions watch as YouTuber Marques Brownlee talks about everything from technology to new cars. Now he has broken the law with 154 km/h.
Youtuber Marques Brownlee, also known as "MKBHD", has run into trouble. In one of his latest videos, he breaks the traffic law quite a lot.
In a video on the YouTube channel where he test drives a Lamborghini, Brownlee accelerated to 154 km/h in a residential area. He had to do 56 km/h.
The incident has caused a stir and massive criticism, and parts of the clip have later been removed by Brownlee. It is not yet known whether the police choose to prosecute the YouTuber.
Brownlee, who has nearly 20 million followers on social media, is known for his technology reviews.
Earlier this year, he made headlines in media worldwide with one video. In the video, he criticized Fisker Inc. and the Ocean electric car. He has since been accused of being the cause of Fisker's bankruptcy.

Now, however, the focus is on the YouTuber's own behavior in traffic and the relationship with the traffic law, which he apparently does not believe he must follow.
According to NBC News, the video shows Brownlee accelerating from 50 km/h to 154 km/h in an area where children could be present, which was also pointed out on social media.
The clip, which caused many to react, was later edited by Brownlee himself. So the part of the video where he breaks the traffic law is no longer included.
On the social media "X" – the former Twitter – he has since commented on the clip, which he 'regrets'.
– In my last video I did something pretty stupid. You may have already seen it, but in case you missed it, I'll say it here instead. It's a clip where I sample the car and cut way too fast. Completely unforgivable and dangerous, he writes.
He went on to stress that he 'regrets' his actions:
– The only thing I can do is apologize and promise never to do anything like this again. It's a terrible mistake to make and I'm sorry.
The incident has focused on how popular profiles can influence their audience, especially when it comes to displaying responsible behavior.
The debate over influencers' role in setting a good example continues as Brownlee tries to rebuild trust in her channel.
