The Tesla Model S Plaid is the world's fastest police car

The world's fastest police car cruises around Los Angeles. The car – a Tesla Model S Plaid – has a whopping 1,020 horsepower and a 0 to 100 km/h time of just 2.1 seconds.

The world's fastest police car is the Tesla Model S Plaid. And now it's ready to take the streets of Los Angeles. With a top speed of 322 km/h and an acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 2.1 seconds, the 1,020 horsepower electric car will set new standards for police emergency vehicles.

The conversion of the Tesla into a police car was carried out by Up.Fit, a company with experience in the modification of police uniforms for official use. For the same reason, the car is shown in these at the SEMA Show in Orkney, Nevada.

They have previously converted the Tesla Model Y and Model 3 for police use, and now they have taken it a step further with the Model S Plaid.

The car has been equipped with the necessary elements for police work, including sirens, light bridge, additional warning lights and specially designed bumpers. In addition, the braking system has been upgraded to ensure optimal performance during chases.

– From exceptional acceleration and range to reduced maintenance and fuel costs, this model offers law enforcement the latest tools to improve their mission.

– At the same time as they save taxpayers' money and promote a cleaner future, says Ben Schaffer, director of Unplugged Performance.

Up.Fit has not released the details of the cabin remodel. However, previous converted Teslas for police use have included a modified rear seat for transporting arrestees and a layer of Kevlar to increase safety.

The Model S Plaid police car is expected to have a range of 550 kilometers, which hardly makes it suitable for the longer missions or very long car chases The first of its kind will be delivered to the Los Angeles Police Department.

On the other side of the balcony, the National Police has purchased several electric cars in connection with a trial scheme. One of the lessons learned is that the officers become much more ill at ease. Read more about it here .
