Quantron AG, which builds hydrogen-powered trucks, has gone bankrupt this week. The Augsburg-based company has long had problems with finances and management.
Quantron AG, a German manufacturer of hydrogen-powered trucks, has gone bankrupt this week.

The company, which is based in Augsburg and specializes in electric and hydrogen cars for business, has experienced significant problems with both finances and management.
Augsburg's district court has appointed Constantin Graf Salm-Hoogstraeten from the restructuring law firm BBL as temporary curator in the bankruptcy estate.
His task is to assess the company's financial situation and examine the possibilities for continuing operations.

– We must first have an overview of the figures and the situation, because we can comment on the chances of continuing the company, it says.
Quantron was founded in July 2019 as part of Haller GmbH & Co. KG and has around 90 employees. The company's development has been affected by founder and managing director Andreas Haller's health problems.
Haller, who suffered a second heart attack in September 2024, is currently undergoing rehabilitation. . In his absence, the company is led by financial director Beate Reimann, technical director Rene Wollmann and board chairman Denis Muratov, who also acts as interim managing director.
The economic instability has led to a lack of wage payments since April, which has affected employee morale and financial security. The situation has worsened with low employee morale and several wage claims at the labor court in Augsburg.
There is, however, a possibility that existing investors will inject the company with an amount of millions to stabilize the economy. But whether that will happen remains to be seen.
The next steps for Quantron involve a critical evaluation of the company's assets and business model either through restructuring or by attracting new investors. If it doesn't happen, it's the end of hydrogen cars.
