90 percent of all Ferrari street cars still exist

According to Ferrari itself, 90 percent of all street cars the brand has ever built are still in existence today. The first Ferrari for civilian use is from 1948.

Italian Ferrari is not just world famous for powerful and aesthetically pleasing street cars.

But how do these cars fare in the long run? According to Andrea Scioletti, head of Ferrari's used car program, 90 percent of the brand's street cars are still on the road today.

This statistic was shared by Scioletti with a number of invited journalists during an event in Maranello where Ferrari showcased their certified program for used cars, Ferrari Approved.

That's what Motor1 writes.

– Over 90 percent of the total Ferrari production – over 300,000 cars – are still on the roads.

– Used cars are often the primary entrance for the new customers who get access to Ferrari.. For this reason, we have created several programs to preserve the experience… of the cars over time, said Scioletti.

Ferrari offers a range of programs for both new and used models to ensure that the cars continue to live up to the name they carry.

For almost all new supercars, the car manufacturer offers an unlimited mileage warranty. Ferrari even offers brand new parts for their classic models.

Scioletti emphasized that many owners gain access to the brand for the first time through Ferrari's used car program, Ferrari Approved.

The program restores used models back to the condition the cars left the factory in. Ferrari then offers a warranty on these cars for up to 24 months for models that are 16 years old (or 120,000 kilometers) or newer.

That 90 percent of all Ferraris are still on the road is a high number compared to other car brands. It is estimated that over 80 percent of all Toyota models sold more than 20 years ago are still on the road.

At Porsche, it is believed that a good 70 percent of all cars from the factory in Zuffenhausen are still on the road. However, both Toyota and Porsche have produced far more cars than Ferrari over the decades.

Regardless, the figure for Ferrari is impressive. As the company itself puts it: "A Ferrari is forever."
