Brand new Polestar 4 recalled – buttons don't work

Polestar has to recall the all-new model "4", which was already heavily delayed and which also did not work when journalists were invited to test drives. Now the buttons don't work.

The problems with the Polestar 4 are making headlines again. This time it's the buttons in the otherwise brand new car that don't work.

According to the media Elbilen , it is quite concrete that the buttons on the steering wheel do not work. This is the latest challenge for Polestar, which has experienced a difficult year with an already delayed launch of the "4".

Previous reviews from Elbilen pointed out that the touch surfaces on the steering wheel did not work as intended. Polestar has now confirmed the problem and is offering all Polestar 4 owners to replace the buttons free of charge.

However, the buttons in the Polestar 4 are not the only thing that is lacking in the new car. It has also been shown that the pre-heating of the battery does not work either.

It is otherwise intended that the function – which some also call pre-conditioning – must bring the battery up to an optimal temperature immediately before the car is connected to a charging station. In this way, charging takes place faster. At least in theory.

Polestar has issued an apology and assured that the problem will be resolved. The Elbilen newspaper also notes that the Zeekr 001, a model that shares a platform with the Polestar 4, has similar problems.

However, it is still unclear whether Zeekr 001 will also be recalled. Regardless, Polestar has apologized for the situation to its customers and promised to correct the error as soon as possible.

This recall is an unfortunate situation for Polestar, which is aiming to establish itself as a leading manufacturer of electric cars. However, the problems are generally in line with the brand. Polestar is already struggling to keep the share price high, so that it has to be traded at all.

And the brand itself has previously warned that it may not be able to repay 12 huge bank loans that have previously guaranteed the company's operations. Read more about it here .
