Hundreds of Honda owners complain of insidious problem

Cold weather generally goes beyond the range of any car. But not only that. Now Honda owners are fighting with broken windows.

There are problems with the heating element in several hundred Honda HR-V model year 2023. At least that's what the owners think. The error simply causes the rear window to pop off by itself.

The American Honda owners say it happens in cold weather. And while the Honda importer will replace the broken windows, it is 'not' a recall.

The American traffic safety authorities, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, have not investigated the problem yet either.

On the authority's website, however, you can find numerous complaints from Honda HR-V owners who are hit with broken glass.

According to the consumer organization Consumer Reports , it has also happened to them that a rear window in an HR-V has become crooked. The organization now wants an actual recall on the table.

Honda in the US states that it is aware of the problem and that it has started a 'voluntary' replacement program that HR-V owners can use to get a new rear window.

Boosted is following the case and would like to hear from Danish Honda owners who might be able to recognize the problem. Recently, Jesper F. actually wrote to us. However, about problems with a completely different car. Read more about it here .
