First the production of the small 500e stopped, and now Fiat is putting an end to the otherwise popular Panda. In fact, it is Italy's most popular car,
Fiat Panda production will stop temporarily next month due to difficult market conditions. It was announced earlier this year that Fiat would increase production of the Panda model by around 20 percent to meet the high demand.
The Panda has been a market leader in Italy and the best seller in its segment in Europe. Something that has already made Fiat promise that the Panda will remain in production until at least 2027.
Everything looked good for the Fiat Panda, which has been a regular part of Italian roads for years. But the situation has now changed significantly.
Stellantis, which owns Fiat, has decided to pause production from November. Officially due to 'challenging market conditions'.
According to information from Reuters, planned production stops will be implemented at several of Stellantis' factories, including the Pomigliano d'Arco, Termoli and Pratola Serra plants.

The temporary production stoppage will begin on November 11 and will extend over several days over the course of the month.
Something that will affect both the production of the Fiat Panda and the collection of engines produced at the factories.
The production halt comes in the wake of previous decisions by Stellantis to pause production at the brand's iconic Mirafiori facility. Here, the Fiat 500e and Maserati GranTurismo are built side by side.
While the Fiat Panda continues to enjoy solid popularity in Europe, other models such as the Fiat 500e have had a more difficult time in the market.
The Mirafiori factory, which is also behind the production of the electric Fiat 500, faces significant challenges, although the launch of a new hybrid variant of the Fiat 500 is expected at the end of 2025 and may help turn the tide for the model, the factory and the employees .
Although the temporary production halts are a sign of challenging times, it suggests that Fiat still plans to keep the Panda relevant in the market for years to come.
