15-year-old Alba from Roskilde is the world's fastest girl

Alba was proclaimed the world's fastest girl in her age group. Now she is fighting to become Denmark's first female Formula 1 driver. There is a book on the way about that.

Alba Hurup Larsen, who has already made her mark as "the world's fastest girl", now shares her experiences in a book about her journey through the world of motorsport.

The book, titled Alba – The World's Fastest Girl, will be published on November 7 and describes the unique challenges Alba has faced as a young female racer.

The young Dane from Roskilde has set herself big goals in the sport, where she strives to become both the first female Formula 1 driver from Denmark and world champion.

As the winner of Ferrari's "Girls On Track – Rising Stars" talent competition in 2023, organized in collaboration with the FIA, Alba established herself on the international stage. The competition had 116 participants from 47 different countries, but Alba drew the longest straw in her age group.

Since then, she has had a rapidly increasing career, which has already led her to a debut in Formula 4, where she was named best rookie at the Indian championship.

The book is built around Alba's own experiences and thoughts. In one of the book's passages, she talks about the two worlds she finds herself in.

– Sometimes it's as if I live in two parallel worlds: In one world I get up, eat oatmeal, go to school, do homework and have fun with my friends. In the other world, I do 237 kilometers per hour on a race track, she says in a press release .

The book is divided into 10 chapters, where the young racing choir describes, among other things, the moments that precede a lob, as well as the physical and mental preparation that motorsport requires.

There is a focus on technical details, but also on the differences between the skills in the sport and the mental challenges that come with it, such as courage and fear.

In the course of the book, there is also room for external contributions. Among these are Jan Magnussen, one of Denmark's most winning racehorses, and former boxing world champion Mikkel Kessler, who share their insights into training, diet and mental strength.

In addition to personal anecdotes and experiences, the book contains concrete advice for other young people who want to be the best in their field. Each chapter is rounded off with summaries that collect Alba's advice in a practical guide, which has been given the title "How to become a star".

The authors behind the book, Majbritt Augustinus and Mette de Fine Licht, emphasize that it is a special opportunity to follow Alba in the middle of her career, while she is still developing.

They explain that it is often retrospective stories that you get from successful athletes, but here it is a young girl who is still in the process of achieving her goals. According to the authors, it is a story that can inspire other young people to pursue their own dreams.

"Alba – The World's Fastest Girl" is 144 pages long and is published by Champion Foundation Press.
