Renault risks closing, says director

If you ask the Renault boss in Germany, the car brand is in serious danger of closing down in the country. "We risk perishing," he writes.

Renault is under heavy pressure on the car market. In Germany alone, the brand has lost 23 percent of its sales this year.

Overall, sales in Europe have declined by 9 percent. The fact that the mark here at home has advanced by 2.1 percent does not change anything.

And now Renault's German country manager sounds the alarm. In a secret letter that has been leaked to the press, Florian Kraft says that he is shocked by what he took responsibility for as recently as August this year.

This is written by Automobilwoche .

And the new boss is very clear about the goal. If nothing is done, the brand will perish.

– We will soon earn more from parts than from new Renault cars. Almost no one talks about numbers and achievements, about control,

– We will no longer be able to keep the marketing expenses at the same level as before. If we do not change anything, only the worst is left – the loss of long-time partners and dealers from November 1, writes the managing director in the leaked letter.

Kraft also believes that the other management's attempts to make Renault a more expensive brand than it is today have failed. Among other things, because the ideas behind them are and were bad.

– It is high time to stop the attempt, because it is too late. Otherwise, the Renault brand risks going under in Germany, writes Kraft.
