It has nothing to do with either Rockstar or the owner Take Two. But now there will be a movie about Grand Theft Auto anyway.
It might come out before the next Grand Theft Auto is even out. Because now there is a movie about the same game.

Titled Grand Theft Auto Hamlet, the film is fan-made. It is all created in the online part of Grand Theft Auto – what is simply called GTA Online. A trailer has even – like the game – already been made.
As the name suggests, the film is inspired by William Shakespeare's play Hamlet. In the film, you follow Sam and Mark through the corona pandemic.
There is no release date for the film yet. But it is expected to be released next year. The same year that Rockstar thinks it is ready to release Grand Theft Auto 6.

The game has so far been announced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. There is no word yet on a possible PC release. But that was also the case with the current release GTA 5. Here, the game was first released for PC a year and a half after the release on console.
