Bought Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford – now he's dead

Ratan Tata, who bought both Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford in 2008, has passed away. The Indian car boss was 86 years old.

The Indian businessman who inherited the entire empire on which he built his fortune lived to be 86 years old.

Tata died on Wednesday this week. According to the BBC, Tata Motors confirms this.

The Tata Group is one of India's largest companies with an annual turnover of over $100 billion. The Indians also managed to turn the JLR group, which was bought from Ford back in 2008, into a business that makes a profit.

– His legacy will continue to inspire us as we strive to uphold the principles he so passionately stood for, says Tata Motors.

Tata also makes cars itself. In a very short period of time, Indians built the cheapest car in the world – the little Tata Nano. The car could be acquired for just DKK 12,000. After 10 years in production, the last Nano was built in 2018.
