Could become Denmark's cheapest electric car – here is the price

Stellantis has opened the order books for the Chinese electric car Leapmotor T03 in Europe. It is far cheaper than the Citroën ë-C3.

The car manufacturer Stellantis is trying to approach cheaper electric cars by entering into a collaboration with Chinese Leapmotor.

The collaboration makes Leapmotor the 15th car brand under the Stellantis umbrella. As part of the agreement, two new electric car models will be launched on the European market, Leapmotor T03 and Leapmotor C10.

The Leapmotor T03, a compact and cheaper electric car, will go on sale at the end of September. It will have a starting price of 18,900 euros, which corresponds to around DKK 140,000.

And since there are no taxes on electric cars under 430,000 Danish kroner, it is a price we can roughly count on here at home.

The T03 model is equipped with a 37 kWh battery that provides a range of 265 kilometers according to the WLTP standard. The car produces 95 horsepower and has a maximum charging power of 48 kW when fast charging.

In October, Leapmotor will also present another model, the larger SUV Leapmotor C10. With a price of 36,400 euros, which translates to 271,000 kroner, the C10 is somewhat more expensive than the T03.

The C10 is equipped with a 70 kWh battery, which gives a range of 420 kilometers. The car is larger than the T03, but significantly longer than Denmark's cheapest electric car, which is currently the Citroën ë-C3. However, that car is significantly delayed .

It is not yet known whether Denmark will be a market for the new models in the future, as we are not included here in the first phase of the launch, which runs towards 2028.

At present, the cheapest electric car available in Denmark is the Citroën ë-C3, which starts at a price of DKK 179,990.

Initially, Leapmotor will import both models from China. However, production of the Leapmotor T03 is planned to eventually be moved to Poland , which will help Stellantis to avoid the punitive tariffs imposed by the EU on imports of Chinese chore toys.
