Illegal street race ended with a bill of DKK 16 million.

It's both stupid and dangerous to race on public roads, and sometimes it goes wrong like in this case where a rented Corvette smashed several cars.

On a country road just outside Nigeria's capital Lagos, things recently went completely wrong when a Chevrolet Corvette briefly illegally street raced a Jeep Trackhawk.

The road is paved with pebbles instead of asphalt because it is not one of the busy stretches in the area. A savings practice, in other words.

This is written by Carscoops , which cites local Nigerian media coverage of the accident.

That being said, it suddenly became very expensive when the man behind the wheel of a rented Corvette C8 decided to go crazy with a Jeep Trackhawk.

Unfortunately, this kind of carousel may well take place without a proper framework. But neither the Corvette driver, the man in the Jeep, nor the spectators are probably among the world's best drivers.

Anyway, the Corvette suddenly crashes into a Dodge Challenger, which is suddenly standing in the middle of the road. The combination naturally causes it to explode with wreckage from the cars.

Imma, as local media call the Corvette driver, continued straight into a lamp post after the collision. He has reportedly suffered severe back problems. Furthermore, the local authorities hold him responsible for the accident.

Therefore, he has also provisionally ended up with a bill of 2.5 million dollars for the damage to the cars and public property. Just as the hospital must have money for his treatment.

Money "Imma" probably doesn't have. Anyway, a post where "Imma" is currently begging people to contribute to the payment is currently going viral in Nigeria.

– I need all the love and support I can get from you, it says.

The average salary in Nigeria is equivalent to 46,000 Danish kroner per year. And it doesn't get any better because, according to the International Drivers Association, the country's drivers are to blame for an alarmingly high number of accidents.

Here at home, this kind of carousel would be called crazy driving. And even though the punishment is harsh, the police still charge people for that type of carousel. East Jutland's police have just charged a 29-year-old man without a choir card for a total of 38 cases of crazy driving. Read more about it here .
