See the list – these used cars are the safest

When it comes to safety, there is nothing in the way of choosing a slightly used car, this is shown by a report backed by Euro NCAP.

When it comes to choosing a used car, safety is often a deciding factor for many. Among the safest cars on the used car market, there are especially models from 2021, which, due to the cheaper used prices, will be available to far more people.

These cars are often ex-lease corvettes, meaning they have been regularly maintained and often have low mileage. This allows car buyers to achieve the high safety standard of newer cars at a lower price.

According to Daniel Odsberg, sales manager at Kvdbil, previously leased cars are popular precisely because they are well maintained and a safe choice.

– "Former leased cars are particularly popular as they have often been well looked after, he explains and emphasizes that modern used cars can offer the same security as new models.

The Volvo XC60 is at the top of the safest cars from 2021. In Euro NCAP's safety test, where car models are evaluated on various parameters, the Volvo XC60 achieved top marks together with 17 other models.

The Tesla Model 3 and BMW 3 Series are also among the highest placed, making them strong alternatives for those who want high security without buying brand new.

Euro NCAP tests cars in four areas: adult safety, child safety, pedestrian protection and safety systems.

The Volvo XC60 excels especially in adult safety and safety systems. However, Volkswagen's ID.4 electric car is the safest model for board passengers, while BMW's 3-series scores best when it comes to pedestrian safety.

Although the majority of 2021 cars perform well in safety tests, there are exceptions. The Kia models Niro and Ceed, which both had to settle for four stars, are placed lower on the list, which shows that not all cars from this vintage achieve top marks.

By choosing a car from 2021, you can ensure a car with modern technology and advanced safety systems, which typically match today's standards. In this way, car buyers get the same security as they would with a brand new car – but at a significantly lower price.
