Schumacher wants a surprising new Haas boss

Schumacher still has something to say about Haas. This time, however, not so much on top of the break between the team and Mick Schumacher.

Sky Germany’s Formula 1 commentator Ralf Schumacher, himself involved in the sport from 1997 to 2007, envisions one man taking over a central post recently vacant at Haas.

After the promotion of the Japanese Ayao Komatsu to team manager, the same team manager lacks a ‘right-hand man’, a COO. A deputy director in other words.

And Ralf Schumacher sees an obvious candidate for that role. Namely the former team manager for both Aston Martin and then Renault/Alpine, Otmar Szafnauer.

– Otmar is both well-known in Formula 1 and has the expertise. One thing is technical expertise. Another thing is to go out and look for smart minds. Sometimes in universities.

– Having the kind of foresight and bringing in new people who can lead the team forward is a talent I think Otmar has, says Schumacher in an interview with Formel1.de.

A former Haas boss, who has not wanted to make a difference to his cars, now that he is out of the garage, still speaks on the subject. Read more about it here .
