Criticized workshop gets 'own' car brand in Denmark

The workshop chain Skorstensgaard, which was acquired last year, will now be a brand workshop for the Chinese brand BYD.

Danish BYD owners must in future visit a Skorstensgaard workshop if they want a brand workshop stamp in the service book.

From the second quarter of this year, the Danish BYD importer and Skorstensgaard, already owned by the same Nic, beat. The Christiansen Group, namely the rags together.

That's what Motor magazine writes.

The agreement between BYD and the garage chain means that the Chinese brand will have another service partner in Denmark. The terminal, which is also owned by Nic. Christiansen, already services the Chinese electric cars.

With the new agreement, Skorstensgaard joins workshops, which the chain has previously fought tooth and nail in the legal system. Read more about it here .

Skorstensgaard's business methods have also not been able to avoid the attention of the media. In 2021, DR's consumer program 'Kontant' threw itself over the chain. However, parts of the program were later criticized by the same media in the press board.

For BYD, a look at the sales figures reveals that the brand succeeded in getting 465 cars on Danish number plates last year.

However, it is far from enough for any top position. In fact, we have to go all the way down to 27th place in the statistics of new registrations to find cars from BYD.
