Car factory taken to court – owes DKK 80 million. kroner

As if Swedish Northvolt doesn't already have enough problems with dead employees and canceled contracts, the company is now being dragged into the bailiff's court due to millions in debt.

Swedish Northvolt, which tries to make a living from batteries for electric cars, has been dragged into the bailiff's court due to a debt of 121 million Swedish kroner. 80 million Danes.

The debt is bills that Northvolt cannot pay, writes the Swedish media SVT .

The news of the massive debt item comes just days after Northvolt announced that it had to lay off people. At the same time, parts of the factory in Skellefteå must be shut down. The same must be done for a number of projects in other countries and new factories.

The two largest bills that Northvolt has not yet paid come from the same company and amount to the equivalent of 34 million Danish kroner.

A further 46 claims for a total of DKK 39.4 million are waiting to be processed in the legal system. The rest of the claims against Northvolt have been written off.

Northvolt itself claims that it has no problems paying its bills. But because the company is involved in many projects of very different sizes, it must be 'checked extra closely to see if the invoices are correct'.

– We obviously do not want delays, but we work hard to review and ensure that all invoices are correct, writes Northvolt in a comment to SVT Nyheter.

The many demands that various suppliers are making against Northvolt are nothing new. But it is new that they make it all the way to the legal system. And the money is actually only one of the company's many problems.

An expert even demands that Northvolt's factory be closed due to as many as four deaths. It has also emerged that BMW has lost patience with the Swedes and has torn up a contract worth DKK 14 billion. It is rumored that Volkswagen is considering doing the same.
