There are more and more electric cars on Danish roads. But the car type still makes up less than 10 percent of Danes' car fleet, the latest figures show.
The Danes still prefer cars with combustion engines.
This is shown by the latest report from Statistics Denmark. In fact, less than every ten new cars on the Danish roads today run on electricity. The share of electric cars in Denmark is 7.8 percent.
But the owners of petrol, diesel and hybrid cars should not think that they get off as 'easily' as people in electric cars. Especially not when it comes to car maintenance.
Because the combustion engine is a piece of more complicated mechanics than the electric engine, John Gantzhorn, technical manager at Applus+ Bilsyn, believes that it is important that Danes take care to maintain their cars.

However, it is not only mechanical that all cars benefit from being maintained.
– It is completely correct that regular fuel cars require somewhat more maintenance than electric cars, because they have an engine with a lot of complicated mechanics and individual parts that need to be constantly lubricated, cleaned and perhaps replaced.
– To ensure the car's condition and value, it is necessary to work proactively with it, says John Gantzhorn in a press release .
The cars in Denmark also benefit from being washed and cleaned. Here it is also important to give the cabin a thought. Here, John Gantzhorn points out the importance of maintaining the air conditioning system to avoid sour and bad smells.
And although a bad smell in the cabin is hardly the cause of a failed periodic inspection, Danish drivers can still avoid the most common mistakes in the inspection halls by checking their cars regularly. Read more about the most frequent errors here .
