32-year-old arrested for special fraud with impounded cars

In at least four cases, the Funen Police believe that a 32-year-old man has bought cars from private individuals. That is, without paying for them.

On Thursday, a 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with fraud in a case involving deals with four cars. This is what Funen Police writes in a press release .

According to the police circle, these are two Volkswagen and two Audi models, which the 32-year-old got tricked from private individuals in trades.

According to the police, the cars have a value of between DKK 80,000 and DKK 200,000 each. They have disappeared from addresses in Fredericia, Hillerslev, Odense and Brædstrup.

– The further investigation must now uncover whether the arrested person has created this scam against other car sellers, says deputy police inspector Michael Lichtenstein in the press release.

In the same case, the 32-year-old is suspected of having parted with several of the cars, which the police were able to seize.

It is not known whether the people who received the cars are also wanted by the police. While law enforcement now warns against types like the 32-year-old arrested.

"Unfortunately, we experience that, among other things, when selling cars, designer furniture and electronics, you can be exposed to fraud by criminals who give the impression of having transferred the money – without the amount reaching the seller," says Michael Lichtenstein.

In connection with the arrest of the 32-year-old, a 55-year-old woman was also arrested. She is charged in connection with several fraud cases.
