Chrysler and Dodge, now part of the Stellantis Group, are facing a major recall due to potentially dangerous airbags.
An exploding airbag is never a pleasant experience. But still, the system with the small explosion can save lives.
At Chrysler and Dodge, however, you have run into airbags that explode completely incorrectly. The car brands have thus discovered that the problematic airbags can deploy themselves and send fragments around the specific cars.
The fault, which the Stellantis Group believes may be in up to 284,982 cars, could ultimately mean that the cars' passengers are injured.
Having said that, Dodge and Chrysler expect the fault to occur in 'less than one percent' of the cars that now need a trip to the workshop.

Specifically, it concerns Chrysler 300C and Dodge Charger models produced between 2018 and 2021.
Today, both cars are a thing of the past. First, the Chrysler 300C went out of production on December 11 last year. Dodge dragged their death knell a little further.
Only this year – more precisely in March of this year – the last Dodge Charger with a V8 engine rolled off the assembly line.
Like Chrysler, however, Dodge cut the top model Hellcat out of the factory for the last time back in December of last year. Dodge itself says that the V8 engine will never come again. But that the replacement has already been found. Read more about it here .
Recalls are the order of the day in the automotive industry. And indeed, Stellantis' latest is among them in the small things department. Even though 284,000 cars is a lot.
