251,000 Hondas may have been equipped with mirror brakes

The US traffic safety authorities must now look more closely at whether it is necessary to recall almost 251,000 Hondas.

Honda may have another problem in the US. After the brand recalled 2.6 million cars last year, and another 750,000 cars in February 2024, another problem has presented itself.

Reuters writes that.

The US traffic safety authorities will now investigate whether there is a basis for asking Honda to look at 250,712 cars with problematic brakes.

Specifically, Honda owners, among those driving around in the Insight plug-in hybrid, report that the automatic parking brake activates itself.

It goes without saying that unnecessary activation of the emergency brake system can lead to traffic accidents. Something that in the worst case can mean personal injury.

According to the news agency, Honda's North American importer did not immediately want to deal with the investigation the authorities will now subject the brand to.

Honda is just the latest car brand to stare a recall squarely in the eye. In fact, it happens on a regular basis.

This past weekend, Boosted was able to report that there may be Danish owners among a larger recall of 40,000 cars. Read more about it here .
